List of things necessary for camping

What are some essential things I need to get for a camping trip? I thik this depends a lot on factors like season, location, max altitude and duration of trip.

In a word, everything you need to make the great outdoors even greater.

Popular Food choices: Instant hot cereals, dehydrated eggs, pancake mix, breakfast bars, granola, dry cereal, instant tea, coffee, powdered milk, juice, fresh fruit, dried fruits. Jerky, dried fruit, fig bars, bagels (best for shorter trips), energy bars and nuts.

Sleeping Bag

A compactable sleeping bag would be fine for trekking while you can also find it handy for several other purposes while you are on your mountain expedition.

travel backpacks

This is probably the most important part since its going to carry all your gear and be exposed to the elements. Choose a capacity based on how long you expect to backpack at a stretch. Do not compromise on the quality of the pack.

Sun - Sunglasses

Your shelter can, of course, protect you from the glaring sun. If you'll be in a glacial environment, glacier glasses or goggles.

It is one of the best options to illuminate your camping space. The headlamps are much superior option than flashlight if you are on a trip for mountains.

Hiking Boots or Shoes: Depending on the type of trip you’re taking, you’ll want to grab some hiking boots or shoes.

Most commonly known as a Swiss Army Knife, this tool is a camping essential that takes up almost no space in your bags. With a knife, corkscrew, saw, small scissors and more, you'll have a variety of camping essentials in an easy to pack, compact size.

dome tents

This is one of the most obvious camping necessities unless you plan to sleep under the stars, you need a sturdy, well-made shelter. What type of tent do you need? it depends on your situation, but you can bring a multi-person tent, a single-person tent, or a tarp.

Picnic Blankets

Picnic Blankets

I can nearly promise, you won’t regret carrying a multi-purpose, waterproof camping blanket in your backpack. You can use it as a picnic blanket around the fire, an extra layer for warmth, a towel for swimming, or as extra tent protection against sudden rain.

This may not be needed for overnight trips but it is always useful to carry a map and have some navigation skills.
