Next, you will need to make sure you've read these camping tips, to ensure you have a cool camping experience.

  1. Make sure that you are carrying with you all necessary camping materials including the tarp for tent. Camping tent, gear, food and tools are factors that need consideration. When it comes to the choice of tent, ensure that you take the type of weather at the campsite into account. The number of people in your party is another factor that needs to be considered.
  2. Make sure that you use tarp which is rain proof. This simply tells that you can use a rainfly which will cover full tent, including the top and sides. It will have provision for ventilations and openings. It will ensure the inside is 100% proof against rain. Always use a rainfly that provides full coverage of your tent.
  3. Drink lots of water. This is something that many people underestimate when packing. This is not an item that should be skimped on. We all need plenty of water to remain hydrated while outdoors, especially on those warm and sunny days.
  4. What to Cook? During a camp out, make your cooking as simple as possible. Include the meals to prepare in your checklist so that you will have lesser errand in the outdoor. Easy to cook meals and even no-cook meals are perfect. If this is planned beforehand, you will only need to bring the ingredients for all your preferred meals during the days in the outdoor. Salad, sandwiches, simple deserts, and barbeque, etc. are some the best meals if you are in the wild. Avoid those meals that require messy preparation because it will eat some of your time. For this, disposable plates and utensils are also great.
  5. Make sure that you do not have any cotton clothing when you are camping during the winter season. While this may be appropriate during the summer, it certainly won't be when it is cold. If you did get wet, which is fairly likely at some point or another, the cottonwood will take a long time to dry. Make sure that any clothing you purchase for this purpose is made of synthetic material.
  6. Try to keep the campsite clean, as that will help in keeping ants, flies and other pests at bay. Ensure that you have sufficient closed containers to store the food items that you take and clean the campsite as and when you have time. This will help in keeping away from unexpected illnesses that can spoil the whole trip.
  7. If you're looking for a comfy night's sleep, place a camping roll mat under your sleeping bag. This will lift you off the ground enough to ensure there aren't any hidden stones or sticks digging into your back or ribs during the night, you can further enhance your sleep by using an airbed. If you have managed to pitch your tent on a slightly elevated area, sleep with your feet facing downhill.
